History of Mr.M HAMMED SEGAOUI

Welcome to our Desert Luxury Astro Camp, an oasis of comfort and stargazing in the heart of the desert. Owned and managed by Mr.M HAMMED SEGAOUI (Hamid ) a local experienced geologist and astronomer, Our camp offers a unique blend of natural beauty and scientific wonder.
My name is Mr. HM HAMMED SEGAOUI known as HAMID, I was born on March 3rd, 1965 under a Berber tent in the desert, as my parents were nomads making a living from camels and goats, they expected me to be a camel heard and keep being nomad but as times became hard and nomadism is a hard style of life they decide to take me to school at 10 years old.
I was very successful at school, got my bachelor’s in 1987, and then went to the university to study geology. I graduated in 1991, I worked for a British company in Cambridge as a Mainen man in Morocco for 10 years then I started to participate in international fossil and mineral shows as my field is geology, I went to France, Sainte Marie aux mines show. Germany Munich shows Colorado Denver shows Arizona, Tucson fossil and mineral show.
In 2005 I started to organize geological field trips around Morocco. I’ve led the Natural History Museum in London, Birkbeck College, Portsmouth University, and Open University. bath university ….
In 2012 while I visited the 3rd edition of the AL AKHAWEINE university festival of Astronomy in IFRANE CITY morocco, I was interested in the sky the mythology and I decided to go on it. I did a 4-day formation GTTP and got a telescope 200mm gift from a friend from London,
SINCE 2013 I become a professional in the leading geological field collecting tours around Morocco mainly the southeast, atlas, and Sahara desert. and during the night I enjoy sky lectures. Stargazing sky observation.
In 2023 I passed my exam and became an official licensed English-speaking tour leader all over Morocco LOCENCE GCVT 3321. ACCREDITED BY THE MOROCCAN TOURISM OFFICE.
